DVD Review – SpongeBob Squarepants – Friend or Foe – Nickelodeon-Paramount

By Michael Sullivan

Pure goofy fun with Nickelodeon’s biggest star, SpongeBob. This DVD highlights seven episodes of the award winning series and features different conflicts among the regular characters.

While I admit I’m not the biggest fan, I am more of a Ren and Stimpy kind of guy, I did enjoy watching this with my cat. And I did find myself indentifying with Bob on “Waiting” in which SpongeBob sends in his boxtops from his favorite cereal and waits for his goody…and waits….and waits….

The voice actors here are very funny and really know thier audience, the mood is light but Bob and his crew never talk down or preach sappy morals to the youngsters who watch him. It must be why parent’s also enjoy Sponge. If you’re a fan, you’ll really enjoy this collection which includes “Night Light” and the two part story “Friend of Foe?” which explains the Plankton/Krabs rivalry. For new watchers, this is a great way to submerge yourself in the world of Bob, Patrick and Patchy.
