CD Review – Turn to Fall “To the Fairest” – self-released

Seattle’s newest buzz band,Turn to Fall, has released a pretty sweet CD. After tearing up the local Seattle live scene,Turn to Fall decided to chill on the shows and create a CD after a demo recording garnered good reviews and national podcast plays.

The band,Josh Brown on guitars/lead vocals,Leif Rowberg on lead guitar,Edwin S. Peters on bass and Jason Haughland on the drums, got a house together to learn to live and songwrite as one. Listening to “Fairest”,more bands should take this route as this is a pretty choice effort. While not as strong as Mon Frere,TtF still has nice hooks, ernest vocals from Brown and Rowberg’s guitar can hang with most slingers I have heard as of late.

The sound is lean for a rock band,no monster ego tripping solos, just blazing lyrics and a nice quick pace. My favorite tracks were “Drama Class”…”running away again/pushing it to the end/make it something more” is a pretty witty tale if you ask me.

This is a band to keep a eye on….highly recommended
