V/A "The Midnight Meat Train" (Lakeshore Records)

"The Midnight Meat Train" is a Clive Barker short story found in his "Book of Blood" series. Despite an impressive cast,Lionsgate is dumping this film with very little push...its going to seen on a 100 screens, then straight to video.

But Lakeshore Records is putting on the ritz for this film, not only releasing this soundtrack featuring a ton of new rock/metal bands, but also a score to this film. The soundtrack is pretty generic and doesn't fit the mood of the story, its designed to sell/introduce you to the new bands making the scene today.

Nothing on here totally sucks but neither does any one band stand out either. And thats the case with most soundtracks, either they play crusty songs you have heard 1,000 times or maybe a new band launching a killer single. Neither plays out here....so I can't really hype this up other then saying its better then the score.
